We provide a comprehensive range of specialised services to support individuals under Community Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and ensure lawful, person-centred care arrangements. Our services are designed to meet the needs of adults living in the community who lack the capacity to consent to their care, in line with UK legal requirements.
We conduct thorough Mental Capacity Assessments to determine whether individuals receiving care have the capacity to consent to their residence and care arrangements. Our assessments are documented in the COP3 form, providing a clear and legally compliant evaluation for Court of Protection applications.
We complete the COP DoL11 form, including all necessary annexes, for RE-X applications to the Court of Protection, ensuring all documentation is accurate and meets the court’s standards for authorising deprivations of liberty in community settings.
We identify suitable individuals to act as Rule 1.2 representatives for Court of Protection applications and support them in preparing Witness Statement (COP24) documents. For individuals without family members or relations to act as advocates, we provide an Independent Advocacy Service, representing their interests and producing COP24 statements to support their applications.
We work closely with care providers to develop acceptable care plans and PRN (as-needed) protocols for sedative medications, ensuring care arrangements are safe, appropriate, and aligned with the individual’s best interests.
We coordinate with General Practitioners or surgeries to obtain letters confirming mental capacity impairments, providing essential medical evidence to support Court of Protection applications.
We liaise with the legal teams of local authorities and several Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to ensure diligent quality assurance of cases before filing applications to the Court of Protection, streamlining the process for timely and lawful outcomes.
We facilitate the preparation of any additional documents required by the Court of Protection to support DoLS applications, ensuring all submissions are comprehensive and meet judicial requirements.
Our services reflect our commitment to transparency, compassion, and excellence, empowering individuals by safeguarding
their rights and ensuring their care arrangements are lawful and person-centred.
